Two items I made, using . 999 fine silver clay which was fired at 1650 degr F for 2 hours in a small electric kiln for the clay to sinter and become pure metal. The silver pendant shows only a patina I applied, but the ring was embellished with dichroic powder and then sealed with resin. In the third photo, on wood background, I had added dichroic powder to the design (Africa outline) and then applied a coat of resin over it ... notice how it added depth. Edit: I found a better pic of the ring, sitting in little plastic pebbles while the resin dried. I used the same techniques on the silver persimmon flower ...
VERY IMPRESSIVE.How much time put in for the Africa piece?Great work!
@dede18 we owned a ceramics business for 15 years before i stupidly sold my part of the family business to go to Texas with my now exwife because"we won't get rich making ceramics and everyone in texas is getting rich".So,made the move.Never got rich But she made out ok.we got divorced a year after getting set up in a good job and gave her a ton of money in the way of child support.Have no complaints about sending money for my kids. But damn,i miss the ceramics life.we had about 125 people a week coming to classes and at one time we were the 3rd largest ceramics shop in the northeast.broke my heart to take a chunk of the family biz away from my mom and dad.Thankfully, they loved me and vice versa so there was no real damage done to the family.Except in my head.I felt like a scumbag.pardon the langusge.your work is very well done and i wish you continued success.Hope that didnt come out sounding like a crybaby!.By the way,my name is Carl Jansen.I have no pics on here, but if you care, you can see me on my fb page.you will see my old dog and a baby in a RED SOX uniform.nice chatting
@dede18 ...been doing a lot of writing in its place.trying to figure out what to do with it now
