Heading out on my first overnight in a while and can't find my filter pump. Just going to not worry. I had a big crack in one once and used it unknowingly for a long time with no problem. Also when I hiked in Brasil we didn't have any and drank from green seeps no one here would touch. No humans or large concentrations of animals between where I'll be and the headwaters. Has REI made us paranoid?
