I've been paddling 5 times the last 2 weeks. It's great to be on the water. Sat and Sun it rained both times, no problem for me or the people I was with. The smaller streams still have some recent blown-down timber in them. Water is still pretty high.

What kind of boat is it; kayak, canoe or just a rowboat?

I paddle solo open canoe. But often I go with clubs that are mostly kayakers. There is a photo of my longer (15'6" ) boat on my page. That's the one I use on lakes and longer flatwater trips like the Big Manistee, or if the kayakers are bringing their touring or sea-kayaks. On smaller streams, like the Pine and the Little Manistee, or where there is whitewater or sharp turns to be manouvered around, I paddle a slightly shorter, more manouverable boat, (14'6" ).

@RiparianWoodsman So you have a couple of boats. On my profile page is a picture of a kayak I built from a kit. It is a mahogany/fiberglass double. It is sitting on top of the car. The car is only 13' and the boat 20'. Unfortunately since my partner died it is sitting tucked under an eave of the house collecting dust.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
