"Climbers" dying on Everest while waiting in line.
Forget the peace and solitude of wide open spaces. This is supposedly the pinnacle of mountaineering experiences.
You couldn't pay me enough to go.
Does this look like fun to you?
If I felt I could get a reasonable window and a fair chance at the top I would go. I''m qualified from my 2010 mountaiuneering course but would need a refresher. I would not go if this were what I knew was ahead. My guide company had a successful summit several days ago. They know the ropes and timed it to avoid this jam.
By your guide company...one you use or own? Either way, kudos if they snuck in (up)
yes Alpine Ascents out of Seattle. I'm certified for high altitude mountaineering with them so I call them "my company" but they are more expensive than the fly by night discount companies. Thinking it through - I'm not going. I love my grandchildren too much.
rock bottom of my bucket list...but...Nepal is near top...
So many other mountains...
@CallMeDave ...content to look at mountains from afar...more intereted in people...
It looks like a bunch of sheep awaiting the slaughter. What is wrong with people???
Exactly
Last I'd heard the trail is littered with corpses which serve as land marks.
Have you read Jon Krakauer's book, "Into Thin Air". I don't think fun enters into it.
I read Touching the Void

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
