View of my home from the air. Recently someone submitted a great shot of this island many of us call home. There is a jut of land (lower left corner) close to ours and that is the main island, San Juan. Also is a range of mountains in the distance, the Cascades, and the largest peak is Mt. Baker, which sometimes sets a world record for annual snow. When the mountains overcome their shyness I get a view of them from my home. The 2nd picture is a view of Mt. Baker from the ferry run from Friday Harbor (San Juan) to Orcas, Shaw and finally Lopez..

Nice shot of the lay of the land in your corner of the state! Beautiful photo of Mount Baker from the ferry. Here's a photo I took of Mount Baker from my daughter's back yard last year in Samish Island near Bow, with more of a peek a boo view than your ferry shot. Just booked my tickets to go visit her this coming summer!

Does your daughter still live in Bow? I go through Bow-Edison every time I head to Bellingham along Chuckanut Dr. That's a great shot of the mountain.
I was once headed back to Lopez and saw people starting to get out of their cars and going to the water side. I wondered what was going on and then saw it. The moon was rising directly over Baker.

@jackjr Yes, my daughter has a "beach house" on Samish Island, near Bow-Edison. So they'll be heading up there in July for the summer, after they return from another travel trip. I'm arriving a week earlier than their return, hoping to spend the first week with my son in Marysville, depending on his work travel schedule. He also can see Mount Baker from his house. Here's his side of the mountain at sunset:

@Julie808 Interesting, from Hawaii to Washington. A couple that live here do the same and are due back mid May. I have a friend in Marysville. They live on the reservation and have a great view of Port Susan Bay and Camano Island. I am luck in that I often visit for a few days and help out with house chores (the husband has Parkinson's and is not able to do much).
Interesting shot as it's just that mountain. I realized my post had an error. I do not have a view of the Cascades but of the Olympic Mountains. We are unique in having two ranges each with it's own influence on the state.

I used to do a little sailing around the islands. Beautiful, but it can get a little treacherous, especially when the tide goes out: powerfully and rapidly!

Oh yes, one really needs to consult a tide and current chart before heading out in a small boat. In the picture there is Fisherman's Bay (on the left side). The entrance to that bay/Marina is very narrow and shallow. Several times a dredging was done to lower the bottom but it always filled in. Now one has to consult a tide chart and have a depth finder.
