Why are there so few Libertarian women? Looking at the members in this group, I see only 8 females. Lots of bearded guys, but few ladies.
In my local LP, it seemed to be the same ratio. I do know the wives or significant others of the men in our group were also Libertarians, they just didn't have the time, whether work or looking after children, to be active in the party. So I'm sure more exist than it seems, just not as prominently. I have no children so it was easier for me to take a more active part in campaigning, ballot access, etc.
More females have been raised to be nurturing, and therefore they believe in more of a nurturing government. They've also been raised to be more dependent, especially during child-raising years.
Conversely, men are araised to be me independent, and be a good provider. But they also are raised to be disciplinarians, and to fight. This causes many of them to be conservative.
I used to say that conservatives are looking for a daddy-figure for government, and liberals are looking for a mommy-figure. But the result we're seeing in government is a compromise between the two, resulting in a demigod for government -- a government that does all, just like a god. That would also be a totalitarian government. That's where we're going, unless the national debt does not collapse the system first.
Because, for some strange reason that I can't comprehend....women tend to care more about getting a woman elected than what her actual politics are. They flock the Hillary and Jill Stein just because they have vaginas. It's annoying. Also, women tend to be the biggest BIGGEST users of government entitlements (individuals, not corporations which is a whole other story)....and, I hate to stereotype...but they somehow think they are entitled to welfare and other assistance just because they procreated.
@WishYouWereHere right? sigh....
@SpikeTalon I would love to run for office. I certainly have the educational background and intelligence to do so and I've considered it many times. However, that said, I have a shit-ton of skeletons in my closet and too many people who could tell some tales....of course, it was all pre-cell phone photos days...so I could deny, deny, deny. But I'm too honest for that. LOL I would, however, also make a great puppet-master....
Posted by SpikeTalonI kneel before no one. No gods, no masters, no control freaks. Screw the tyrants from both political extremes, and their agendas.
Posted by SpikeTalonNeither one of the extremes, and yet the best of both worlds...
Posted by SpikeTalonSubstitute the word liberals for progressives, and that would describe me as well. As for the conservative part, the socially/theocratic (aka, bible thumpers, mostly) ones in particular.
Posted by SpikeTalonIndividuality is a dirty word to the authoritarians (both left and right) in the world.
