I started using linux in the days you had to compile the distro yourself.That was the time of Commodore 64, microbee Tandy TRS 80 The thieving destroyer just came on the market after stealing Geos (applications manager) to make his Windows. He achieved another coup with the mandatory installation of the UEFI chip in all computers.
Now linux distros must buy a license off Microsoft to be able to run linux in any computer.
On older computers like mine, it is not too hard to sideline the UEFI chip On newer machines ,I am not so sure that the UEFI chip can be bypassed.
I am looking for a puter manufacturer that can get motherboards without the bloody UEFI chip.
I miss SYSV
