Agnosis is greek word for ignorance,
and as they say
"Ignorance is a bliss™️"
[bbc.com]
Sadly makes sense. All the more reason to focus on critical thinking skills and stronger science education.
I think, for instance, that the theory of evolution can be difficult for many to understand and so they choose to disregard it.
A very good essay. What do you think @FrayedBear
An interesting article however I'm not sure that I can agree with a basic premise stated at the very end - "So while agnotology may have had its origins in the heyday of the tobacco industry, today the need for both a word and the study of human ignorance is as strong as ever."
I suggest that the first developers & promoters of agnotology have always been those promoting their god as omnipotent, requiring monetary support & in need of worship!
