Definitely a "healing" crystal, that quartz!!
In my magazines I refused to carry advertisements for healing crystals, magnets, etc.
In one issue, I printed a letter I had received from a vendor of such junk which claimed that crystals would adjust to vibrate in harmony with your own body's rythms and re-inforce them, followed by an comment that pointed out that crystal controlled watches were extremely accurate because the crystals had such a precise period of oscillation, no mater who was wearing the watch!
