By the way, we had a 1927 Oakland Landau Sedan up on the farm. I tell folks about this one and they, most frequently, have never heard of the Oakland automobile. My cousin and I are sitting on it in the center of the pic. There is some confusion with this car because it was made during the transition from Oakland to Pontiac. They are most often referred to as Pontiacs, but they were being manufactured under the Oakland marquis.

@Lincoln55 -- Yep, I surely do remember them.
We also had two Reo trucks, new at the time. One was like pic 1, a D19, but it had a huge wooden hay bed on it that made it look like a landlocked aircraft carrier when it wasn't loaded. Pic 2 is our Speedwagon (not the pic, but they were identical). Both vehicles were purchased in 1947 in lieu of replacing our tractor. I was old enough to know that was a bad idea, but I knew not to argue with the old man.
Remind me sometime to relate the story of the local doctor's brand new Cadilac's encounter with that old Oakland.
