From Homo Deus, an excellent book:
"Was this, then the knowledge of the gods- how to make things, crops, and domesticated animals grow? And, was the Bible the story, and/or history, of the transition, perhaps difficult transition, from bands of hunter-gatherers to settled agriculturalists, creating newly needed social, and cultural norms and mores in order to live in one place, in some form of harmony?"
Probably, in my opinion.

I can't think of a book at the moment but I'm really enjoying John Vervaeke's Awakening From The Meaning Crisis lectures on YT. There are 19 available right now and there will be 50 eventually, one every Friday. Here's the first:
