400 year old shipwreck found. Bronze cannons looks like. Sadly a lot of Roman and Greek bronze statuary survived through the Middle Ages, the Pantheon was adorned with them for example. Then most of them were melted down to make cannons. Sigh. [bbc.com]

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Bronze cannons were superior to standard iron cannons in every way, they were highly prized especially aboard war ships because they were lighter, could be reloaded quicker and were more accurate.
