Who can really say for certain what happened, unless we can go physically back in time and observe first hand all the events, etc, that occurred then I doubt if anyone will ever know for certain.

@Allamanda Well we will always have the Faithfools and their interminable predictions of the End of Days won't we? LOL.

I have never believed that their fading away was a direct result of modern humans.

@Allamanda probably not..

Very interesting especially, "...outsmarted them or outnumbered them,...a wave of modern humans migrated out of Africa about 20,000 years earlier.". I also noted limited numbers and inbreeding go hand in hand. No one can predict the future but with a rich and increasing knowledge of the past can help us make educated, evidence and reasoned based decisions. This population growth (breeding and immigration) has and still shapes the world (not just ours but other life forms). We know where this has led in the past but most still stumble along making the same lod mistakes again.

Another idea I got from this is just more evidence for a higher intelligence to evolve requires a lot of luck. This will reduce the chances for higher life forms elsewhere in the universe. Thank you for the post.

Yeah partially right and inter breeding with us, as the larger population they became us, most non Africans have Neanderthal DNA including Asians, and they were a much smaller population
