I live less than a mile from the border and it has been 3 years now since I went there. When flying to Mexico or South America I always pay more just so I don't have to transfer in the US. If I don't I always wind up in their scanners getting a dose of radiation.
@Surfpirate I get it. My last experience was from Buenos Aires via DFW on United Airlines. We were treated like malignant cattle by both the airline - the worst in the world - and by the Nazis at US customs. That was in 2013. It is worse now, I hear. I'll never travel to the USA again or anywhere on a US carrier or, if I can avoid it, on a Boeing.
Which is one of the many reasons I shall not visit the US. I shall keep my tourist dollars in Canada.
