The prohibition has been lifted as far as the consumer is concerned after nearly a century, and is being controlled by government.I would say prohibition 2.0 is just a part of the whole drug war which in my opinion has been lost the opiate war rages an in war lives are lost.

I agree there will be bootleggers, just like there are for alcohol. The bootleggers will be there for the under aged smokers and those who would possibly want to avoid any taxes associated with cannabis. But I suspect that they will probably be scuzzy individuals and probably later in life be mayor of Toronto.

There's a lot of money at stake here, expect the government and its enforcement arm to protect the interests of big money and big business ahead of the people at large. Its how the game is played.

Only if they didn't truly decriminalize it and only if the regulated market is reasonably smooth and fair. Bootleggers only exist if they have a substantially better product or get around supply and demand imbalances.
