So Canada isn't perfect. Deal with it.

Being a 3 generation Albertan I can tell that I hate Alberts more than any other province, it is a beautiful place but we have someof the stupidest people.

I can tell the Montreal bourough of Plateau Mont-Royal is massively invaded by the "Français de France" making ot look more and more like a French colony.
As far as I know, one controversial issue in Canada that's creating some very fierce debate and lots of tension between the provinces is the albertan tar sands. Some people want to expand the oil production and build more pipelines to sell it abroad. Some other people want to slow down or even shut down the whole thing to fight climate change.
There's also the Quebec separatist movement dividing the Quebecers and bringing some resentment elsewhere in Canada.
Hard to tell what will happen in the federal elections next fall.

I would say that Toronto is the most hated province in Canada and if you don't believe me then just ask Doug Ford because as far as he is concerned the province ends at the limits of the GTA. lol

hmmm . . there are many things about Quebec I like BUT they screwed over Newfoundland Hydro because they could, basically done an ethnic cleansing on English communities across the province (Visit Gaspe' if you don't believe me) , often refused to accept immigrants if they don't adhere to the Pure Lane model, and will not participate in anything which is in the national interest unless its all about Quebec (screw your neighbours).

Pretty much a divorce but living in the same house while expecting bedroom privileges

I was raised in Gaspe, as soon as high school ended I fled, landed in Toronto, now in Alberta LOL by the comments in here I'm thinking "I sure know how to pick them" I have enjoyed all the provinces that I have Gypsyed across from Newfoundland to BC over the past 48 years and everyone has this HATE or BEST attitude . They're just four letter words in my dictionary

@CourreurDeBois there a lot I like about Quebec but the Poor Us and Screw You attitude wore out its welcome a long time ago

Québec the most hated Province? By whom? Not even here in redneck Alberta. Deserved or not, Ontario wins that contest hands down, especially Toronto. As to differences, those between les Français and les Québecois are less striking than those between Anglophone Canadians and Brits. But the greatest cultural gulf is between Canada and USA. It is as if we are from different planets.

I agree that Ontario would have been for a long time the most hated province in Canada. When you have lovable provinces like Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan (I am not being funny or ironic or anything here I love those places). I live in Ontario and I had very mixed feelings about the place, but recent developments at Queen's Park have lead me down a dark path in terms of my feelings for the province and its future. But before I talk about that I would like to say that our friend from redneck Alberta lives in what is probably the second most hated province in the country.
Back to my feelings about my home and native province. As previously stated, I have not been in love with this over-blown and self-important cesspool since my youth. I must say however that the ugly face of the province resides in Queen's Park. Bloated and lobster hued, he with his ham-handed steering of the province hard to the right has bullied the poor, the less fortunate and threatened constitutional chaos to promote his dubious schemes. The cultural gap between the US and Ontario has just narrowed considerably. It makes life in other provinces a lot more attractive.

@Simmer51 I've lived in both Ontario and Alberta, but have no provincial loyalties at all, hence I'm a bit tone-deaf about the subtilties of who hates whom the most. It also depends largely on which party is in power. If the Nazis win here in Alberta this year, we'll soon be back as number one on the most hated list once more.

@Arouet Well Alberta will have to work really hard to come up to Ontario but I am sure they are up to it. Really though you should try Saskatchewan or Prince Edward Island they are lovely places with lovely people. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are up there too. I don't think of myself as an Ontarian, strictly Canadian.

@Y_not Some anger there. The last bunch of scumbags were on a better road socially and that's all that matters to me. Because now it is Ontario open for business, closed for people.

@Y_not Sometimes things are not as they seem. After 44 years of Conservative government, during the most prosperous times we have seen, we in Alberta have nothing to show for it. The cupboard is bare. Nobody seems to admit where the money went, but it is gone.
