For the first 3 years of my son's life, we owned a dog. We put her down when she was 14. We haven't owned a pet in 9 years. Back in November, we adopted a wonderful dog but, found our son to be allergic and sadly had to return him. Because of this, we had our son tested for allergies to cats. We received the results today and found he is allergic. We both wanted Chief from the shelter
Some dogs and cats are less likely to have issues with dander, the substance leading to allergic reactions. But, no dog or cat is completely dander free. You might look into those possibilities for your family. There are other options for pets as well.
