This has been coming a long time. It's already law in many other countries.
The only time it should be available is if there is a congenital deformity that causes an ingrown claw. (And you'd be surprised how you can manage that). I do with one of mine with a Syndactyl.
And before that with a Polydactyl cat. (That's a lot of nails to clip - but it's very doable if you learn how). (Her Vet was all set to remove all her claws - I refused).
I've seen kitties develop terrible arthritis and biting habits from declaw procedures. Others seem to survive with almost no issue.
But I know I prefer my hands and feet with all the digits intact.
And it doesn't require much to teach a cat not to claw.
