I am a special educator who shares a room with 6 people who are married with children. They make small talk about their kids all the time and I'm sitting here thinking, "Well my dogs did something funny last night..." Mostly I just listen to music on my laptop and sit in the corner trying to tune everything out.

I know what you mean about people jabbering on about their kids. There's a woman at work that talks about her (college age) daughter all the time. I tend to gloss over while she's talking.
