Not such a good day yesterday. I was doing well with my fast all day, then at bedtime, just out of habit I opened the fridge and there was the pot of cream, left over from my lunch party. I immediately fell into temptation and had some fruit and cream to finish it off. A lesson not to have dangerous leftovers. On the other hand, the week since i started has been good overall and I am down just over 2 pounds, so I am on my way.

Its great you lost 2 lbs. A binge occasionally is not going to derail your good work, nor will one make you gain weight.

@EdEarl That is what I told myself. In the past i have let myself think that I might as well give up if I can't even manage a week without failing, but I have learnt a bit more patience.

Day 3 of the fruit/veggie fast, did OK sticking with it for the most part. Made a pot of roasted cauliflower chowder today, not for eating today. Ate a tablespoon of shredded cheese while adding the cheese to the soup. Tasted the soup but only 2 spoons, just to check the flavor. Seemed to come put pretty tasty, will add the recipe to my box. Tomorrow will have a cup of it. Going to make a kale soup tomorrow, use part of the tomato "sauce-soup" I made for the fast. Tomatoes, onion, celery, carrots. It was OK but not great as a meal, think it will work great as sauce in the soup though. Can you tell that the cooler weather has impacted me?

Calorie intake for the day was 600, calorie expenditure for the day (including BMR) was 2570. Check-in tomorrow, will see how it goes. Gearing up for travel Wednesday, visit friends, have lunch. May have to check the menu online so I can take time to consider what to order.

Can you give us the recipe for the roasted cauliflower chowder? That appeals to me! Veg soups, which form a large part of my fast days' diet can get a bit boring. I hope the lunch goes well with not too much temptation!

@CeliaVL Here is a link for the page for the soup. It turned out quite well, very tasty. I did modify, I'm not vegan so I added about 1/2 cup of chopped ham for a half recipe. I also used 2% milk, roughly double cheese and chicken broth instead of vegetable broth. For one cup of the soup by my recipe was 157 calories. Deduct around 20 per cup if you don't have ham in it and another 20 if you don't use double the cheese. The milk and broth probably come out about the same.

I checked out the menu at Village Inn, where the luncheon is. Depending on soup will have cup of soup and 1/2 sandwich or the 2-2-2 breakfast. I am the world's SLOWEST at making up my mind about silly things like what to eat at restaurants so it pays to check the menu ahead of time anyway so I don't hold everyone up while picking my meal. Should be fun, getting my hair cut, too. The woman who used to do it is in Colby, I worked out there for about 4 years. Have not found anyone local who can get my hair the way I like it so had her cut it last time and decided it might be worth a visit to get her to do it every so often.

Not a bad eating day today after a really good fast day yesterday. I shall be just under 1000 cals for the day despite one of my meals being simply stewed plums and cream. The cream needed using up after my lunch party, but by making it a whole meal I managed okay.

Lunch: Oatmeal and Chili 500
Dinner: Vegie Subway 500 and Alvarado Taco 200
Exercise: 800 curls and 200 pushes with 5 lb dumbells
