Bit warmer today, was able to clean the yard (dogs) put out some containers of leaves for pickup and check the roof/gutters for leaves. The screens I put on a couple of weeks ago are working, didn't have to clean gutters. Got the door back on the guest room, now complete with a vent opening so the return air vent in the room can draw air. Put away summer stuff like weed-eater and water buckets so when it turns cold again in a couple days, I will be prepared.
Calorie intake was lower than expected today, finished at 964, including my late night coffee w/ creamer. Feeling up! As of today I am 1 pound under my short-term goal which gives me a little leeway and makes it less likely I will bounce back over it at the last minute. Just a week until my winter furlough begins. Although it won't make a vast difference in my day to day eating, it will allow more calories so monitoring isn't as intense.

That will be nice, plus it leaves room for those special things that come with winter, like T-day dinner, X-mas meals, some "treats". I really enjoy baking in cold weather and although I often share my products with friends and neighbors, I really hate to not get to at least have a little. Last winter I did the same thing, taking off longer than planned but I was able to maintain, which is big for me since my history is of gaining back pretty quickly when I stop "dieting". OK, off to bed now, trying to maintain an earlier rise time which means I must stop being up so late.

@FlippantLlama It's called a reduced calorie diet, which in every animal studied from mice to monkeys has resulted in extended life spans of about 50%. See: [nature.com]

I'm not hungry, so can tolerate eating only that much. Check out Dot's daily diary, she too eats few calories. It is absolutely necessary to get all your nutritional needs, including vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. There are so many phytochemicals that scientists have barely scratched the surface on identifying them and their benefits. From my experience and other things I've read, getting your nutritional needs allows you to eat fewer calories without being hungry.

IMO one should eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables to assure their nutritional needs are met. I do not take a multivitamin-mineral, but do take B12, which vegans need. My doctor prescribed vitamin-D, which is common for older people. Otherwise, I get vitamins from my food. Minerals come from food and the hard well water (filtered) we drink.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
