Made it to exercise today, went well and felt good to have some structured activity after almost 2 weeks off. Then hit the grocery store for my and my neighbor's groceries. Was saddened to see that the store no longer has honeycrisp apples. Those are delicious, I have actually been eating apples, not just buying them. I settled for one "pink lady" apple to see how it is and 4 grapefruit.

Was "up" today, weight is a pound under my winter maintenance weight and I have not officially resumed loss mode. I have to credit this group for a big part of this, last year didn't go nearly as well. I shifted to maintenance earlier, with less intent, more just stopped working at it. Gained about 7 pounds before taking back some control then could not shake that 7 pounds over the next 6 month as I procrastinated on going back to loss mode. Not long after joining this group, I finally decided to commit to getting back to losing and on that day I made my first post here.

For the last 6 months I have posted almost every day, first tracking !y daily eating, more recently my calorie intake for the day as well as some of my day to day activities. That act of reporting in regularly has provided me with a level of structure that has truly made the dieting go mich smoother. Even when I have tripped up, knowing that I didn't want to "admit defeat" to the group so I had to get back to it in short order. So, even though this group is rather quiet and only a few people post regularly, i want to thank all of you for "being here" and I hope others are also able to benefit from their membership in this community.

Its fantastic that you are under your winter maintenance weight.

In addition, this post will, IMO, help others here. Thank you.

@EdEarl Thanks! I am pleased that it has not seemed like as much of a struggle this year.

I do hope it encourages, inspires or motivates others who are here because they also struggle with weight loss. It would be great to see more activity here, to get to better know the challenges and hopes of other members and to celebrate their successes.

You're pretty good company, Ed but it would be cool to have more people chime in. 😉

@DotLewis Thanks, you are also good company. I like your posts because they tell about your struggle. Mine is more like an engineering report.

I too would like members to share more, but empathize with them. The world is not kind to people who are obese, and some may feel helpless about change. It is hard to change; although, it is a leaned skill. The more you practice, the easier it gets.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
