18 March 2019 - Diet Diary - All is quiet here in rural Kansas. Of course, it is after midnight and the town rolls up it's streets by 11 PM. Really! Particularly on a Sunday night, you can go outside after 11 PM and walk down the middle of the highway which runs through town, in front of my house and neither see nor hear a single car for 10 minutes or longer. Granted, this is a minor, state highway, the larger state highway that intersects this one will usually have a little traffic, mostly because trucks use it crossing Kansas east/west.

Anyway, typical night, if I am on the computer, which is by the window on the front of the house, it is very quiet. That means I can hear the pulsing whir of the ceiling fan in the next room, the hum of the heater behind me. ADD you know. When I took my first job in an office, for the first 6 months I couldn't work with the lights on because the buzz of the florescent lights bothered me. So, that's more than you ever wanted to know about me.

Today, had exercise at the senior center then SC board meeting in the afternoon. Tomorrow will run to Colby to pick up center director when she returns a transport bus "loaner" from there. Meanwhile, not getting much done at home although I did finally go through a huge pile of mail that I've been hoarding for 3 weeks. I had to, I'm payee for a woman in a nursing home and I forgot to send payment on the 7th for her stay. Had to find the bill and get that out today. Don't want them to drop her off at my house, she doesn't like me. 😉

On to business so I can go to bed. Intake was good today, 1118 at the end of the day. Staying on track has been easier the last couple days, just need to continue. No commitment to the cabbage soup yet but plan to put it together tomorrow evening, probably crockpot it to bring it all together. It will be heavy on the vegis so should be healthy and not too caloric. Bought another bag of carrots this evening so I'll dump those in. Will be interesting trying to put it in the analyzer though, have to guess on amount of leftover vegis I have.
OK, I've got to quit, I apparently have a little diarrhea of the fingers tonight. 😛

Speaking of Cabbage soup....I did small portions of corned beef and cabbage with baby carrots..trimmed all the fat...and have been extending my St. Patrick's day feast in to the week. Slowly getting down; 148.4 lb. the lowest in 2 weeks.

update 3/20 148.2! slow and steady....

That is pretty lean for a guy, I would think. That just happens to be exactly what I weighed the last 2 days. I want to get rid of the 8.4 then go to long term maintenance. At 140, my BMI is in the "normal" range and my weight is below the "overweight" cut off.

I enjoyed my corned beef and cabbage(with carrots), too. Sure is a challenge to get the fat all (mostly anyway) separated out. Worth it though. Nice dollop of mustard on the side makes for a tasty meal. Got the remaining vegis on low in the crockpot, soup day tomorrow. Added some tomatoes, smoked sausage, mixed vegis, green peppers, white beans and kale so it should be some serious soup.

While you are talking to us you are not being tempted to add calories, so keep chatting as long as you like. I am visiting family at the moment so only dipping in and out of the site.

You make a fair point...while we're posting it's hard to eat...and writing that we're doing this and that with food makes us more committed to discipline ourselves....IMO...

Well, I'm glad to have a place to post. Posting here (this group and generally on Agnostic.com) is a comfortable place to post and actually say something sometimes. FB, no matter what you say, you can expect someone to come back with something ugly. Given how many will blast you if your post sounds non/anti religion, it must be all the love and acceptance the christians are experiencing and just have to share. I don't post a lot on FB, mostly forward stuff or make inane comments about stuff other's posted. Plus, it does keep the dangerous, late night eating urges at bay.

Thanks to all who contribute to making this such an accepting space.

@DotLewis I would have thought it depends who you have on your Facebook friends list. I get into political arguments with some of my friends but eveything is basically friendly and rational. I don't do much public stuff or bother getting into arguments on outside groups since there are so many people around who need to vent their general discontent. I put more personal stuff on this site quite often because I don't want my family and friends to worry about me - they all have enough to deal with - but it is nice to be able to confide in complete strangers occasionally.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
