3 April 2019 - Diet Diary - Nice enough day, warm, some sun. After the long stretch of snow, ice and freezing weather, it is nice to be able to go out and clean the yard every day. Dogs develop bad habits if their area is not policed well. Just saying. Speaking of dogs, the old guy has lived to see another day. Don't know how that will go, he got a massive dose of steroids and if that improves his condition, he will be on prednisone. He is 16, not technically mine as I never adopted him from the rescue so he is more of a "sanctuary dog" but he has been with me for 7 years now and the possibility he would have to be put down this morning was more distressing than I expected. Hopefully, he will regain some coordination with the drugs.
Made another batch of the "pumpkin oatmeal cupcakes" tonight. They are really not like cupcakes, they have no flour, no eggs, no leavening. Mostly they are pumpkin and oatmeal, a little oil, spices and "add ins" which were coconut, raisins, chia seeds and a little bit of white chocolate morsels. They are actually a lot like having a dish of oatmeal and the first time I made them I decided they are kind of nice if I have to get around and go someplace in the morning and want something reasonably healthy and EASY to grab and take with my coffee as I go. Had to "analyze" the recipe, the breakdown that came with the recipe didn't account for whatever add ins go into it. Mine came up higher than the base recipe, of course but not too bad. Had one tonight with coffee and still came in under 1120. As of this morning, have 5.6 lbs to go to reach my goal, but it is sure putting up a brave fight.
5.6 pounds seems very close. I'm sure you can get there soon. It's easier for me because I am only just starting again and weight always comes off quicker at first. Is this an intermediate goal? Will you have a reward when you reach it. I am quite excited!
It has gotten much harder the closer I get. This is intended to be my final goal. It is not "skinny" but it will put me in the "normal" weight group, according to charts, with a BMI under 25. The goal is to get there by June 12, which is 2 years from the day I started this. Must have a reward, have not decided what it should be. Perhaps having a plumber in to fix the drippy bathtub faucet that I cannot get loose.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
