1 May 2019 - Diet Diary - So, it was May Day. Took the neighbor a May basket, it tickled her and she liked the bag of Twizzlers I put in it. Spent much of the afternoon deep cleaning the kitchen, which included cleaning all the counters, shelves, etc. as everything got a layer of white dust from the sanding of the plaster on the underlayment for the floor. The worst part though was that I also cleaned the tops of the cabinets, that lost area of the kitchen where all the greasy particles go to hide and stalk the dust floating through the air. I have open space above the cabinets, about 12" high. I have some old kitchen things there, partly display, partly storage. My blue granite turkey roaster is there, which is used at times, as is the blue "pasta pot" but they are joined by a blue granite camp coffee pot, which is almost 12" without the lid. Of course all these items were encrusted with a layer of grease and dust as was the top of the cabinets so it was a nasty job. Covered the tops of the cabinets with paper after cleaning and put back all the things where they belong. Enough of that!

Eating went better today, finished just below 1200. Finished the cauliflower "fried rice" but still have cauliflower to use so tomorrow will need to cook up something. If it stays cool, like today (tonight it is to be 35°ðŸ˜‰ then I think creamy cauliflower soup may be on the menu. Weight is down, I think. Today the scales were toying with me, first reading was GOOD, lowest so far. However, being a skeptic by nature, I tried again, of course it was different. Then the OCD kicked in and I did maybe 6 readings, all but one different than the initial one. Gave up at that and called it a <> day. Will see what tomorrow looks like.

Believe that first reading - I'm sure it was right. O have that same twelve inches on top of the cupboards but I don't have anything up that do I ignore it. I had my occasional help in yesterday to make a major start on the spring cleaning - taking up and putting away the rugs ready for the summer and generally getting rid of the winter diet from the wood burner. It is already warning up here so maybe I will be more interested in salads soon. It means I can sleep with my window wide open too, which always makes me feel better

Real "spring" will feel good. So far it has been nice many of the days but nights get too cold to open the windows, then it will take a snap, like last night when it was close to frost level and the furnace ran. This is the first time in years that I still had the furnace on when May arrived. Yesterday, I woke up it was cold and I thought I was going to freeze. Went back and crawled under the covers for a while just to be warm. Plus, it was grey for two days and that chills me even more. Fortunately the sun was out much of today. I really like when I am able to open windows and pull in night air. Working in the yard/garden helps as well. I have seedlings that need to be planted out so I'm wanting to see frost threats OVER.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
