I'm walking some now, doen't even have a wheelchair in the house; though, one is handy to go outside. I'm exercising daily my arms using dumbbells, and I'm eating a low calorie diet, about 1000-1100 calories/day for the past couple of days. It's noon today and I've had about 500 calories. I'm hoping my weight loss will accelerate. It took about two years to lose 125 pounds, and I hope the next 125 will be gone in less than a year; hopefully before the new year (about 6 months).

That sounds really good progress since your last report. Don't try and go too fast - you need adequate calories for energy. Ten pounds a month is a lot to aim for even if you have a lot still to lose. When I was losing at my best rate I only managed around eight pounds a month. Still, it's good to have goals. I hope you have got rearwds planned for when you reach lesser goals on the way. We all need treats!

I wish I could forget treats.

If I lose 48 lbs, I'll be happy.

@EdEarl As I recall, mowing the yard was going to be a "treat" for you. Just don't enjoy it while the temps are running 100+. 😧

@EdEarl Treats don't have to be food. I think it is a good idea to think of special things that would give you real pleasure and use those as a reward for your achievements, whether it is going out somewhere, or buying a new plant if that gives you pleasure, or whatever else you might like!

@CeliaVL You are right. However, I've been stuck in my house, except for doctor visits for years. I'm now small enough to get into our Prius, and a few days ago took three hour ride outside the city, in the country. I have other things planned, but I need to be more mobile; that is, walk considerably more than I can at the moment. I intend to work again, perhaps driving for Lyft and Uber, mow my lawn, and do some woodworking.

@DotLewis I'm an early bird, and it is cool enough at daybreak to mow some of the lawn.

Excellent progress! The more exercise you are doing, the more calories you will burn. Even so, 6 months is a VERY ambitious goal. Wishing you the best at getting there.
Having missed some of those goal lines myself, which was at first discouraging to me, I have to add, if you don't make it in 6 months, don't let it get you down.

Be persistent! A loss is a loss and every pound counts. If it take the whole year (OM! That's still over 10lbs a month!) so be it, you are still getting healthier. Also, don't forget, the more you work on strength building, the slower the scales will go down as muscle replaces fat. Regardless, you got this. Look forward to updates on your progress.

I will provide updates; perhaps once a week.

Setting ambitious goals is better than setting none. However, my goal is more a desire than a goal I'm trying to achieve. My real goals are day to day, keeping the calories low and exercise.

Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.

Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.
