12 July 2019 - Diet Diary - Well, 40 years ago today I was home from the hospital where I gave birth to my son at 11:53 AM. He remained in the hospital for 2.5 weeks, due to a diaphragmatic hernia which had to be surgically repaired that day. The next 2.5 weeks involved daily trips to the hospital to hang out in NICU for 6-8 hours. He is much bigger now. Called and told him "happy 40th" which he didn't appreciate all that much.

Weight today came back down 0.6 lbs, hopefully will be back at 140 by Sunday. Decided to implement a little intermittent fasting again. Doing a 8/16 program, start eating around noon and stop at 8pm. That was the schedule I used before and it was comfortable for me. Since I am very much a night person, I am generally up until at least 1am, more often 2am, so I sleep until 9-10am most days. This means I take a couple hours after waking before I eat but that rarely bothers me, I am generally not real hungry until I'm up a while.

Since stopping the IF last winter, I have had problems with slipping in more snacks after supper because I am up so long after that. Cutting that eating off at 8pm means less daily intake. Today I finished at 1030, would have been under 1000 but I cheated and had about 10 peanuts while getting the dogs out and back in after their supper. Will have to curtail that little treat unless it is before 8, not likely during summer months.

Don't particularly want to be under 1000 for multiple days, my metabolism is already slower than it should be thanks to years of poor dieting programs. However, the limited eating schedule requires me to do a bit more pre-planning, which is good and if I come up too short, I can put in something "special" before the 8:00 time limit. Will so how this goes after a few days.

Not actually hungry, although it is 11:40 now and I would normally be having some nibbles. Had a big dish of garden weeds/daylilies again tonight. SAD that the daylilies are almost done blooming as I have enjoyed eating them. Still plenty of lambs quarters available and kale but the DL add a nice pop to the meal. I may see if I can get one more meal out of them before all the buds/blooms are gone.
