When you need to cheat and really don't feel like fresh fruit or veg, something hot can be really helpful. I find low calorie packet soup helpful - especially the creamier ones like chicken and mushroom. If it is the salt of the chips that you crave, try veg sticks with a sprinkle of salt.

It isn't "cheating" if you snack on 100% healthy food. Fruits, vegetables, baked/broiled skinless chicken breast. As long as NOTHING processed or artificial are added (salt-free spices OK) to healthy foods you just can hardly go wrong. Apples, bananas, cantaloupe, carrots all make great snacks. Keep an eye on calories from natural fats and sugars (don't have an avocado for a snack). Steam-up a bunch of mixed veggies and sprinkle with Mrs Dash Salt-free spice blends. 150 calories per POUND! Have a salad (but don't use a high-calorie dressing). I cheat-eat all the time, but it adds-up to about nothing and totally satisfies... I just now had some cooked broccoli & kale with mustard. Retrain your brain to love this kind of stuff. I also get on the electronic scale every morning for my reward. I'm down 70# in 3-years (almost 1/3 my original weight)! It does take some determination.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
