Update: February of 2017 I started getting worried because my health was in shambles. In March I stopped eating dairy and tried out plant alternatives because dairy started to make me feel terrible at the time. By late July I had dropped 17 pounds just by doing the switcharoo. I dropped another 3 by early September. For lack of a better term I had a sort of epiphany mid-september and even conquered my own depression (lasted for 5 and a half years). After this happened, I began a new diet almost right away and got a gym membership. By early November, I was 240 and by mid-December--218. I had a brief hiccup around the holiday season and gained 4 pounds, lost 2 of those shortly after and stabilized at 220 in early January. I was 200 by the end of February. And now here we are at 185.

(Left to right) (I weighed 185 before I started gaining weight. I started gaining weight in early 2014 and stopped gaining in January 2017, grand total 103 pounds of weight gain).
Picture 1: Me January of last year, weight: 288 pounds
Picture 2: Me April of this year, weight: 185 pounds
SIDE NOTE: This wasn't the first time I lost weight. I was a tubby kid in grade school but lost all the extra weight in the 7th and 8th grade (about 36 pounds).

Outstanding efforts and results! Now you need a plan for staying that way! Fact is, you did all this back and forth during the very years that most of us were not battling weight issues. The real battle starts on the mid-20's and progresses non-stop as activity slows. You saw what one diet change can do. there are additional tweaks that will keep you in the healthy zone. Stop all fast food to start (probably already did that). Stop eating mammals and mammal products (which you mostly did). Stop eating any processed foods (including no sodas). You can stay a proper weight and have the added advantage of reducing prospects of cancer and numerous other diet-caused diseases.

Awesome. I am allergic to milk, but not lactose intolerant. It congests my lungs and makes me susceptible to colds and flu.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
