I'm 63 and feeling better than ever. I hope others may benefit from my experience. I'm not at goal but close. Close to death, I saw the movie Forks Over Knives. With nothing to lose, I gave up meat, dairy and oil. Within a short period of time I was feeling better, losing weight and getting off all medications. The final stage (I hope) of getting the remaining weight off is intermittent fasting. I get all of my caloric needs in 4 hours. That has probably had more to do with losing weight than anything. It has to do with insulin and getting that out of your system completely for a few hours everyday. This lets other hormones take over. Anyway, it is effective and it's more of a lifestyle change rather than a diet, so I'm confident that my perfect blood panel will remain so until the day I die.

Thanks.

My diet is similar, except I'm not following the 20 hour fast. I think you just convinced me it will be necessary. I've done the 20 hour fast, but didn't make it a life style change.

Congratulations! Keep spreading the word. ANYONE can do this. I've been on a similar path for 3-years. Down 70#, all bloodwork back in proper balance. No processed foods. No mammal products. No salt, sugars, or animal oils. Just lots and lots of wonderful clean healthy veggies, fruits, spices and a few whole grains. Wild-caught ocean Salmon and clean Chicken breast round out my food list. I have about 20# to go to meet my college weight. No problem... easy... almost said "piece of cake". 😉

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
