I haven't felt like working out in forever which led me to the answer to the question about what to do when you lose your motivation to exercise. The answer is (drum roll) do it anyway.

Also, believe me when I tell you, a time will come when your body is too permanently beat up and won't let you work out anymore. Enjoy it while you still can and I do mean 'enjoy' !

A lack of motivation tends to stem from issues with mental and or physical health. I have learned to play doctor for myself over the years to get over the many health issues I have dealt with.

Maintaining nutritional homeostasis, while supporting testosterone production has been a great way for me to harbor the motivation to keep fit.

It could also be that your brain is trying to tell you that your workout program is not efficient enough. Some people are naturally tough and can handle workouts that require more calories and muscular engagement per movement, so you may just need a more advanced program.

I agree. On my journey to becoming a regular exerciser, I discovered years ago I was my own worst enemy.

I finally realized that if I never made an excuse not to exercise, that would eliminate that issue. It helped that this was right around the time Nike's "Just Do It" campaign started.

I do, however, occasionally keep in mind all the benefits regular exercise has. Healthier heart, healthier brain, healthier joints. There are just way too many benefits to stop it now (especially being 60 - eek!).

My best workouts are those when I least wanted to go. I have a somewhat similar issue in that I tore my quadriceps tendon so for some period I will be pretty much limited to upper body.

What are you going to do if you get a chance to have crazy weasel sex with someone at the spur of the moment and realize that maybe you should have done your workouts to be at your best? It works for me...lol.

@Stevil well good for you...but I was answering the poster's inquiry...he is the one who needs to think of weasel sex...lol....I love your image as well of just not being able to walk around and do "normal" activities...ugh...use it or lose it

I love learning new terms and phrases that I can IMMEDIATELY start using in my daily dialogs.

You guys been hiding in a cave or something? Ever see those nature channels of animals just going at it? Spinning around, various positions, trying out new stuff, having fun, getting exhausted but doing it over...and over...and over...sweating, pounding, just rocking the shit out of having sex...that, guys, is weasel sex....oh yes, and there is biting and hair pulling...yum.

@thinktwice Not hiding in a cave but 10+ yrs. without sex and before that trying to figure out what I want. Now seriously wanting to explore things like 'crazy weasel sex' before it's too late.
