So what is your current favourite physical activity for your workout? I've been really into riding a bike this summer. I hadn't ridden since I was a kid.

Winter will be setting in, so I'll be on the elliptical a lot. I've also been thinking of getting a rowing machine I've had my eye on. #workout #exercise #fitness

Every morning, at 4am, i run for an hour. It wakes me up, clears my mind, and energizes me for the whole day.

I encourage you to get the rower, especially a Concept2 Erg.

Yes! That's the rower I was using at the gym and I have my eye on. Well designed.

@MiltsterD They are the world standard for a reason.

I have been at the gym using the machines for this reintro period. I am thinking of getting together with a trainer and switching to free weights. We will see how it goes. 🙂

I haven't been going to a gym to use the machines for awhile, but the treadmill and my podcasts were huge in getting me active again.

@MiltsterD it was the easiest way for me. 🙂 what ever keeps you moving.
Do you enjoy swimming? I know that sounds like a summer thing but some hotels around here have swim clubs where for a small fee you can get access to there pools.

@Donna_I I love to swim. I was very self conscious about my body for a long long time, so I'm slowly getting over that.

@MiltsterD it takes time.
Have fun with what ever you choose!

Lifter for life.

I used to lift years and years ago, then drifted away and over time got really out of shape overall. I've taken off most of my fat weight and keep thinking about going back at it. If I did it would just be toning though.

@MiltsterD There is no such thing as 'toning'. You either work the muscles or you don't. Developing muscle is very difficult, especially for us old folks?, so work hard if you decide to start lifting again. Every time I hear someone say they want to 'tone' it sounds like they don't want to try very hard when they lift because of some unfounded fear of getting 'too big'. Getting big takes a lot of time, money, food, energy and focus. It helps if youre under 35 too! Good luck with your physical goals!

@kmdskit3 thanks for the advice! ?

I really got into winter hiking last year! No bugs, better views and it’s really not cold if once you get going if you dress appropriately

Oh yes definitely! I live where it regularly gets between -4 F to -40 F, ( I think that's converting right?) so I don't always feel it, if you know what I mean?

Also, it gets dark pretty early here in the winter, so that's a thing too.

I was born and bred for the cold though. ??
