....but they don’t know that, do they? It isn’t a sacrifice unless you are consciously giving up something. What the Christian Faith is, is indoctrination. Indoctrination in the belief that God in the person of Jesus made the sacrifice for us and we need to be grateful or we’ll be punished and end up in hell.

Nietzsche was wrong, religion is you mentally trained to be your own prison guard. You become your own 1984 style big brother, they do this because only you can be your thought police. You feel guilty for doubting and you let down God who loves you so much that it hurts him to toss your ass into an eternal furnace where you will not die.
