Every nudist/naturist acknowledges that clothing may be needed for warmth and/pr protection. However, if there is no need for warmth and/or protection, then clothing isn't really an actual necessity.

I hike in long pants, gaiters, long sleeves, a Solumbra wide brimmed hat and gloves.

This is to prevent skin cancer and insect bites from ticks, horse flies, wasps, mosquitoes, etc. If insects are extremely aggressive, I wear a net that goes over my hat and falls to my shoulders. I react badly to insect bites.

Now I spray my hat, socks, clothes and pack with Sawyer permethrin insect repellent. Odorless and nontoxic, it lasts 6 weeks or 6 washings. Love it!

In this photo I rolled up my sleeves because it was windy. I wear sunscreen daily on my face, neck and arms year-round.

My little sister Beth got skin cancer at age 22. That was my wakeup call. Age 27 was the last year I had a tan. We both have porcelain skin.
