I am a teacher and in my neck of the woods we are about to have a two week break. Our local government in an attempt to get people spending money and supporting tourism offered a voucher to pay $ for $ up to $200. I booked a small cabin for three nights near a place I have never been and am so looking forward to the time away from people (there will be others there but I don't know them) I have planned my day along with my polite nod to passerbys. A friend asked if I wanted her to come along, I said no. She could not understand how I would go somewhere by myself. I pointed out that if I did not then I would never do anything. She does not go on holidays unless she has someone to go with her. It is so hard to describe for her the utter relief I will feel when I don't have to be overly chatty to someone I can give my polite nod with a look of yeh I see you just keep on walking no need to talk.
