Oh....I hate when people say that to me. I often have something I am contemplating when I am walking down the street/hall....not frowning, just thinking....
Men are usually the ones to tell you to smile; you'll look friendlier. Grrrr
I have been told I have a great smile and need to do it more often. However, I also have a somewhat prominent upper front tooth. Others say they don't notice it but I do and it is inhibiting. Often there are reasons we act as we do.
Growing up, in Dallas, we were a large but free range family. We showed affection by making rude comments or punching. I was 35 before my mother first hugged me and I thought, whoa, what is going on. Now I am living on an island where everybody hugs and I am having to adapt, slowly.
I've always been told to smile or had been called 'poker face'
