I remember in high school after a while I would just get overwhelmed and shut down. Not talk to anyone. I’m glad I had such great friends that didn’t take offense to it. They didn’t ignore me but they didn’t talk to me either. All of them are still my friends 10+ years later.

Love it. When I was married, I worked (still do) in an office and my ex worked out of our house. So the introvert was with many people every day. Drained by end of day and wanted quiet. She was an extrovert and talked on the phone part of the day. Recipe for disaster.
I never neglected the kids even though I needed time to recharge
