What growing zone/planet hardiness zone are all of yβall in? Iβm in central Florida 9b. I wish I was in South Florida 10 or 11 zone. I could grow a lot more tropical fruits.
Just like Donna _, zone 5 or maybe zone 5.5 ( Lake Ontario is only 4 miles away. It has its own climate zone. Before the last four snoow storms, snow drops were blooming in the front yard. They are probably still blooming under the snow cover. Tough little flowers. I was lucky yesterday and found a farmer who sold me 6 bales of straw for $30, an excellent price. The bales are now on my lawn, near the vegetable patch. I will be lining them up , after putting down some leaf mulch. They will be my raised beds this year. I will post photos of the progress. The sun is shining, but it is still only 32 degrees, so not much snow is melting.
I have been thinking about trying the hay bale method of growing too.
