I'm a horrible flirt! There is this cashier I find funny and attractive. I always look for her aisle even if it's packed. Last night I accidentally hit on her. I'm not sure if she got it though. I was walking past every lane and was almost to the last one open and thinking she wasn't there tonight. Until I found her AND it was empty. But I was walking quickly and went right past her before I realized I had missed it! So I turned around like a U-turn and moseyed on in.She asked me why I took the long way around lol. (EEK she noticed!) So I told on myself.

Me: Oh I always look to see who is working and if there are people in the aisle. Actually, there was one even standing by her lane and I don't like her, so I kept walking. She had even said hello and I was like doot doo doo. Then I saw your lane was empty and that it was you!

Her: Oh I work with some people I will say hi to but not chit chat.

Me: I know the feeling. Then we said our have a nice night before she waited on the next customer.

I also overthink and now I'm thinking I sound like a stalker! I really am duh sometimes about if someone likes me or not. My husband had literally said I want you to be my girl and I didn't get it. His friend had to tell me he had asked me out. The woman in question has talked about living with her mom, some of her friends, and once I noticed she had gotten colored contacts and she said I was the first to notice. She does those cheesy jokes I like and it's adorable because she uses her surrounds (my groceries lol). I'd love to ask her out but probably won't because 1. IDK if she even likes women. 2. IDK if she would be interested because I'm married (which she knows) and 3. I don't want to be one of THOSE customers. I mean she probably does those puns with everyone. Sigh.

Ask what she does after work to unwind. If it's something you have in common, make an offer. If she's not interested she'll tell you she just goes home, mentions family or is tired. But if she mentions food, coffee, movie or anything social you could have a new friend. You'll never know until you ask.

Update: I found her off work and said we seem to get along well and that I'll give her my number if she'd like to hang out. She told me she doesn't get a lot of free time because she takes care of her mother but gave me her number instead. I texted her that night but didn't hear back for 3 days telling me she is trash at texting. I texted back with my facebook info (she had mentioned facebook while she gave me her number) and then nothing. I have seen her since and we still talk and she thought I wouldn't want to talk to her anymore because she didn't text back. She told me today during my checkout that she has anxiety and that her dad passed away when she was young. I'd say maybe she is shy but as far as I can tell she thinks I'm only interested as a friend. Which is also fine by me. I'm not very good at making friends and this was literally the first person I've actually pursued (aside from online) that wasn't from school, work, or an acquaintance of a friend.

Sweetheart you're not the only one that has done that. When I used to work as a cashier at Walmart. There was about 9 customers that always came to my line. If I had no customers or my line was long. All I have to say is ask her, "Hey, would you like to go for coffee?" And see where it goes from there. You either found a partner or a friend.

I wouldn't want to speculate on the whole asking her out thing because I would poo my pants at the thought of asking anyone out but if you do then way to go and good luck.
On the subject of feeling like a stalker, I always scan the checkouts to see who is on at my local supermarket, there are people I go to out of preference because they do show an interest in how I am and people I deliberately avoid because they are clearly phobic (you can tell, they don't say hello or goodbye or even tell you how much your shopping cost but that's an aside) so no you are not stalking, there is nothing wrong with choosing who you go to and nothing wrong with that feeling of attraction, I guess if they are a genuine person they will be flattered that you find them attractive and if not then they are not worth knowing but as I say it would take a braver person than me in your situation to find out, whatever you choose to do good luck 🙂

Go ahead and ask her out. What do have to loose. The only you have worry about is her saying no. Maybe, she is into you and to shy to say something to you.
