I think the original quote is something along the lines of "When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me."

@NicoleCadmium yes, that’s why using the word “assumptions” would completely miss the point. Exactly the same way as that joke I referenced from the movie.

@miffy Yes, I know... Assume, etc... I also know that "assumption" doesn't have that spelling. The joke did work, but like I said, I don't feel like writing the entire story.

Perhaps they were referencing Samuel L Jackson in The Long Kiss Goodnight. He actually does say "assumption", but follows up with "make an ass out of u and mption". Heh.
