But the bananas do not have life-long consequences, either way. THAT is what must be taught, where the potential consequences lie. I like the practice where they make the teens keep a baby (sometimes a doll, sometimes a sack of sugar), with a schedule that must be kept, fir two weeks, so the kids can learn the responsibility of being a parent.
