@glennlab it was almost amusing at first, but when I understood how serious she was about the moon and then, that Trump is the best thing since sliced bread, she was no longer eccentric but just stupid.

@Gwen_Wanderer It is sad to lose a friend to lunacy.

@pamagain there are stupid but harmless delusions (hollow moon) and dangerous delusions (Trump). I have discussed her in other threads--she is pagan, lesbian, and feminist, but thinks Trump is a savior. It hurts the brain!

, @Betty the friendship had been rekindled after many years. I now remember why it ended the first time! She has gotten much, much worse though.

@Betty it is fine! I would like to meet likeminded people locally but as I am reclusive, there is not much opportunity. It is not something that depresses on bother me, though. I prefer being alone than in the company of idiots.

@Gwen_Wanderer I am an introvert, or as my mum called me, a homebody. I have few friends, and I'm fussy about trust, as trust is a big deal with me. I am good with my own company, so we have that in common.

@Betty I am an introverted extrovert or vice-versa. I have virtually no friends in MO. My grandkids are the only people who come to my house. Trust is a huge deal with me--some people say that they trust people until they give them a reason not to trust them. For me, people have to prove that they are trustworthy.

On the other hand, I have no problem being social and talking to people. I have said before that I go to Walmart to get out of the house (as I work from home) and talk to people. I initiate conversations. However, there is no "commitment" and the only time I gave a woman my phone number because she wanted to be friends, she drove me crazy. I am not a good friend because I want to deal with people on my terms and time, and I realize that this is not fair to them.

I also gave exchanged numbers with a woman on this site and she also drove me crazy by wanting to talk and calling me "whenever." Sometimes, I don't mind phone conversations, but not everyday or several times a day. The only person who calls me spontaneously is my DIL, and that is usually when she needs to vent or needs support. I love her and this is fine

@Gwen_Wanderer Well, we seem to have some similarities. We have similar methods for trust, and I am not a phone person. My son is the only one I will tolerate on the phone, and he pushes it.

I do not initiate conversations with strangers but will with acquaintances. I have one good friend in this building and a few casual ones. I spend most days alone and I'm quite content with that. I like my own company. I do communicate with one of my granddaughters through messenger and she keeps me updated on my great grandson.

I like this site and many of the people on here. You are definitely one of my favourites.
