What an idiotic statement!
Science may not prove the non-existence of gods, but it does show that there is no valid evidence for the existence of gods. My conclusion: gods are mythological beings created in the imaginations of humans.

Scientists do not try to prove that God doesn't exist, because scientists know that you cannot prove a negative. And they don't spend a lot of time trying to prove that God is real because the burden of proof is not on scientists, or athiests for that matter. It's on those believers making the claim.
I still love the tag line, though.

It's on par trying to prove fairies dancing on the lawn don't exist.
