Not a slur. It's a term Southern country folks have been using to refer to themselves for a century at least. Lighten up.
@jeshuey it's a slur towards poor white people, its use is hundreds of years old. It used to be a slur against Northern Europeans then later used to reference poor whites in the US. There are people being banned for using the word on popular streaming platform "twitch". Twitch is known for being woke on social issues. It's been a racial slur since before any of us were born.
