Yeah, I didn't follow everything, and don't know if his last point actually proves his main point, but the last point as to the land is something I usually put this way:

I'll be speaking with someone (perhaps a Jew in my own family) and they will say "But God gave us the land". I will respond that I am not certain of much in the Middle East, but one thing I can tell you with confidence is that this never happened. God did not give you or anyone else any land.

Another thing I sometimes repeat is that my definition of a religious war is one where two parties fight to the death over whose imaginary friend is more powerful. I suppose this could be modified to: fighting to the death over whose imaginary friend gave which land to whom, several thousand years ago.
