It seem to me a good idea to help introduce the concept of testing in the simplest sense by making lists of examples of the current questions one asks oneself in order to find a new fact or reassure an old one, followed by the action performed in testing. This is so we might increase the list and the habit of testing for a useful and reasonable purpose. I am not trying to induce OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) here.
What useful testing routines do you have in your life?
eg I always test to see if my coffee is too hot by feeing the side of the cup -liquids too hot can cause ulcers and even cancer in the mouth

When I meet a new person I am continually dreaming of new method details to find out their beliefs , their work, who else they influence perhaps. This is my punishment for being a not very good science teacher, now that it is too late to reach back to past pupils and colleagues.
