I have been editing some of my poetry and came across this piece.

Let Us Speak
Let us speak of country matters,
As Hamlet has said, and not being politically correct
We can ensure a fire storm of disgust and angry epithets.
We are lost in language. Marked by the trivium and quadrivium.
And so we trivialize the most important matters,
And rave on, in Buddy Holly style, to the insignificant ones.

Let us speak of pussy grabbers, bitch slappers, white trash,
And brown people who know their place;
Whatever the hell that means, or matters.
We are lost in the education of language.
And civilization is broken when the trivium and quadrivium
Are viewed as indoctrination.

Who said, "I can't define it, but I know free speech
When I hear it."?

Let us speak of sacred things and thoughts,
For which wars and killing ensure their historical relevance.
Finding any agreement in language is a wish,
Only found in the pleasantries of peace.
And mankind furthers the trivialization and aggrandization
of the wrong things and the wrong times.
And war, as inevitable as civilization's sinking,
Into the black hole of disenfranchisement,
Is welcomed as an end to fears, imagined and real.
