So much to unpack on this piece .
It’s a life stand and a philosophy that made us and broke us too .
I spend most of my adult years in Greece , my Italian dad retired there in an island , and returned to his mothers land ( she was Greek ).
The things I ve learned bcz of this dance , have helped me navigate schools , hostile environments , relationships and friendships , food and hospitality , and helped to want to stay alive . This piece represents for the Greeks : pride , compassion , φιλότιμο ( honor your friends , be a true friend ). Also , don’t sweat the small things , life too short , live it .
