exactly. He was a disasterous treasurer. And never knew the meaning of tact. I can't think how anyone would think he'd be a good diplomat. Why do these aresholes get rewarded with such cushy jobs?

Uhhhhh! Here we go. Cosying up to USA. If there had been poor black women or indeginous people included it would have held a mirror up to America to say this is what you can aspire to which would not have gone down well. Political rhetoric again. I really thought Australia could be s beacon to the world for what can be achieved by 'mateship'. Coming from UK the idea of looking out for each other, and it's engrainedness in Oz culture has been an amazing revelation. Whet this has done to my mind has undermined the major premise ion which Australia exists. Hockey and his cronies should be appalled at an outrageous display of un-Austalianism.

Typical "all for show, no go". The Australian mateship extends to barracking for sport teams only. Come a war and defending the country and you will find the likes of Hocket hiding in the coal cellar of the embassy in Washingto puffing on his cigar.
