Either ultra conservatism is coming back for a last shot of relevance or there is a local, political agenda at work. It’s like when rent-a-crowd were shipped in for the mosque demos.
I lived in Bendigo for a few years and no one really gives a shit about these issues, certainly not enough to make a difference. Subterfuge and, as you say, fuckwittery at play here I would suggest !
